Indonesia's Digital Licence Verification: Is Your Bali Accommodation Ready?

Indonesia is moving towards stronger digital verification of tourism accommodation business licences. For villa owners, villa resorts and hotels in Bali, this is an important reason to review their property’s compliance position.

On 26 May 2026, Indonesia’s Ministry of Tourism announced plans to develop an API-based verification system connecting online travel agencies with business licensing information through the OSS system. The announced plan targeted June 2027 for launch.

As the regulatory environment evolves, accommodation owners should not assume that an existing booking-platform listing or business registration automatically confirms that every applicable requirement has been met.

Why This Matters for Bali Accommodation Owners

Business registration, licensing classifications and property-related requirements must be considered in the context of each accommodation’s specific circumstances.

Changes in regulatory oversight can raise important questions about whether existing documentation is accurate, whether the registered business activity reflects the actual operation, and whether further verification or corrective action may be appropriate.

Identifying potential gaps early can help owners make informed decisions and plan the appropriate next steps.

A Professional Compliance Assessment

Interacco’s Bali Compliance Centre (BCC) helps accommodation owners understand their compliance position through a structured, independent assessment.

Depending on the property and scope of the engagement, our services can help you:

  • Assess relevant business registration and licensing documentation.

  • Identify potential compliance gaps and inconsistencies requiring attention.

  • Understand which matters may need further verification or specialist advice.

  • Establish practical priorities for addressing identified issues.

  • Review relevant legal and sustainability considerations for your accommodation.

The assessment is tailored to the property’s circumstances. Not every requirement applies to every accommodation, and the appropriate next steps depend on the findings.

Who Can Benefit from BCC?

Our services are designed for:

  • Privately owned villas rented to holiday guests.

  • Small villa resorts.

  • Boutique hotels and other relevant tourism accommodation businesses in Bali.

Whether you are already operating or reviewing your property’s position before making further business decisions, BCC can help you establish a clearer understanding of your compliance situation.

Important note: The digital verification system described above was announced as a planned development. Our role is to provide independent assessments and practical support.
